Check if your institution has a Data Use and Registration Agreement (DURA) in place.

Only researchers whose institutions have signed a DURA may access the Researcher Workbench.

Institutions with DURAs

Categories of Agreement
  • Registered Tier
Institutional DURA that grants all registered researchers access to the Registered Tier only, with no Controlled Tier access.
  • Registered Tier and Controlled Tier
Institutional DURA that grants all registered researchers access to both the Registered and Controlled Tiers. Some institutions may require additional approval for the Controlled Tier.
  • Individual agreements required by institution
Individual data-use agreements required for any institutional researcher seeking access to the Registered or Controlled Tier.

Your institution does not have a DURA in place yet, but the All of Us team can help.

Do you have contact information for your organization's signing official at your organization?

A signing official is a person who is authorized to sign contracts on behalf of your institution, such as an administrative officer, contracting officer, or sponsored programs administrator.

The DURA Process
Researcher or institutional signing official submits access request form
Request is processed by the All of Us Data and Research Center, operated by Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC)
VUMC signing official reaches out to institutional signing official
Communication between VUMC signing official and institutional signing official
Institutional signing official submits a partially executed agreement that is then approved by a VUMC signing official
Once approved, institutional access is granted to Registered and Controlled Tiers
Researchers can create their All of Us Researcher Workbench account

To proceed with a DURA request, you will need contact information for a signing official.

A great place to start is your office or department's administrative officer, contracting officer, or sponsored programs administrator.

For assistance, contact the access team at aoudurasupport@vumc.org

Your next step is to fill out an online request form to start the DURA process.

After submitting a request, you will be contacted via email with information on next steps.

For questions, contact the access team at aoudurasupport@vumc.org.

While completing this request form, you can expect to provide:

Institution type and location
Contact information for your Institution’s signing official
